In the World of New Crafting Obsessions...

I just bought myself a metal clay starter kit!  EEEEEEEE!

Complete with instructional DVD - this kit from Fire Mountain Gems comes with everything you need to start firing Art Clay (including a mini torch! Yay!! BURNING!)  For those of you who don't know what Art Clay is... it's a compound that is silver in clay form.  You can mold it into any shape and when fired (in a kiln or with a torch) it transforms into 99.9% pure silver.  Neato, huh?

I am super stoked to try working with this stuff! Stay tuned for my first Art Clay project!

I think I'm going to try making something for my little sis for her 21st b-day at the end of the month.  I'll definitely be posting the results of my first attempt!

Oh, Art Clay is so much FUN!

I wasn't sure what I was going to make at first, and, honestly, I felt a little naughty. Because the package I got (the smallest), the clay was about the size of a Chiclet and I felt I was playing with my gum! :)

I made a little pendant out of mine -- it looks like a little two-handled cup!
